John Tavares is one of the biggest Free Agent names the NHL has seen in a long time. Rumours have been flying about whether Tavares will stay in Long Island, or move over to the West Coast, and almost every team in the league has been rumoured to at least be interested in one of the best centres in the game.

So we want to give you the full rundown about where JT might sign, and why he’ll end up there:

New York Islanders:

Tavares has moved around Uniondale and Brooklyn with the Islanders for 9 years now, which can make it very hard to leave. As the captain of the New York Islanders, they are definitely the favourite to retain the services of the man that has scored at least 60 points in every full season since 2010-11. He loves the city, it is the only place he has ever played, and it’s hard to imagine he wouldn’t like to sign a long term deal and maybe bring a Cup to the city he has grown up as a player in.

It is also hard to imagine him leaving because the pizza is so fucking good there. Everywhere you look, every corner of every street, you are going to find a great slice of za. From Roberta’s to Guiseppina’s, Johnny can try a new pizza every day of the week, and not be disappointed. And let me tell you, JT loves pizza. Who doesn’t?? You’re not going to find a deal like that in any other North American city.

Vancouver Canucks:

Vancouver women were recently ranked as the 6th most beautiful of any city in the world behind Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, Amsterdam, Singapore and Reykjavik. According to MSN Travel, “If you want to gaze at gorgeous Asians and freckled Scotch-Irish descendants, it’s hard to beat Vancouver. Nobody rocks bum-hugging yoga pants like a Vancouver lass strutting the seawall.” I KNOW Johnny loves Asians and yoga pants, so if he wants to keep his Tinder game strong, he’ll be swiping right in Vancouver this fall.

Montreal Canadiens:

Montreal is home to Space For Life, which is a museum district famous for being the largest natural sciences complex in Canada. It hosts 4 different natural museums, one of which is the Montreal Biodome. Rumour has it that JT is a huge supporter of natural museums. Something about the smell of the fresh air as he walks into the butterfly garden makes his jimmies tingle. And if that’s true, he will definitely be donning a Habs jersey this October.

Montreal is also home to the best poutine in the world… so there’s always that.

Detroit Red Wings:

Who loves Jazz music? JT does.

A popular event for over 34 years, the Detroit International Jazz Festival is one of the world’s premier jazz festivals. It takes place over several city blocks in downtown Detroit and features more than 100 acts taking part on five stages in four days. One of the top 10 annual festivals in all of Michigan, it offers everything from popular concerts, educational activities for adults and children such as the Jazz Talk Tent and the Kid Bop Area, fireworks, late-night jam sessions, and unique opportunities to meet the artists involved.

Wow. Try to stop Johnny from throwing the winged wheel on his chest.

San Jose Sharks:

John Tavares has always been a big fan of scary movies and mystery novels. The fact that San Jose is home to the Winchester Mystery House will no doubt be a huge selling point for JT. It is one of the most famous mansions in America, known for having a crazy, unique architecture, rooms that seemingly have no purpose, and of course the many stories of the Winchester House being haunted. It is a must visit for any horror fan, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Tavares is swayed to sign in San Jose.

So there you have it. The complete guide to where John Tavares might end up on July 1st, with every important detail you could ask for. Don’t even try looking for a more comprehensive breakdown of where he might sign, because you won’t find one.

Although we do have inside knowledge from an NHL ex-teammate of John’s on where he will be signing. Hear about it on the next @PostandOut podcast release tomorrow. Listen to our last episode here:
