Did you know the 22 military veterans take their own life every day?
I want to bring your attention to a hockey military charity that’s trying to lower that number by getting vets on the ice. Skate For the 22 is an organization that is using our incredible sport to make a difference. They are raising awareness for this epidemic that is plaguing a group of people that give selflessly so that we can enjoy our freedom.
Skate for the 22’s main goal is to get vets on the ice (and in the dressing room) to help them find the camaraderie they lost when they left the military. By putting them back into the team atmosphere, they are able to help veterans work through any kind of problem that presents itself.
Beer League Talk is working on an awesome project called Chel-A-Thon for Skate for the 22 Foundation. When NHL 19 is released we will be playing the new game and streaming us doing it for 48 straight hours. Don’t worry, it’s not all video games! We will have prizes, live podcasts, & special guests as well. We are doing this to support Skate for the 22, which is an organization that promotes military veteran suicide prevention and awareness. We’d be so grateful if you shot us a follow and supported the event. If you’re interested in donating, please visit http://bit.ly/2OhxhVW.
We are also going to pay for one lucky beer leaguer’s hockey league fees to support this event.
And while you’re here, check out our best LOL moments from the NHL 19 beta version.
