#1 – We’ll start with recent events, shall we? Last night, Kane got into a scuffle with a referee after a few swapped slashes with Vegas Golden Knights player, Deryk Engelland. The slash that came from Kane hit an unintended target, the NHL referee, Kiel Murchison. A few seconds later, you see the official grab Evander by the jersey in an attempt to separate the two, but ends up driving him into the ice. A swift shove from Kane to the ref later and he’s swearing his way up and down into the tunnel to the locker room. Who’s at fault? In my opinion, all of the above! Kane, Engelland, and Murchison all win the “We did something we shouldn’t have” prize.

#2 – For those of you who don’t know, Kane is kind of famous in the NHL. Well, let’s say infamous. Evander Kane led the NHL in the 2018-2019 season in.. wait for it.. penalty minutes. 153 in the regular season to be exact. To put that in perspective, the second ranked player for that season, Ian Cole of the Colorado Avalanche, only had 115 penalty minutes in the regular season.

#3 – People watch sports other than hockey? Well, apparently so. Evander Kane attended the 2016 NBA All-Star Game and had a great time! Such a great time, in fact, that he needed some extra sleep the next day to recharge. Too bad for him, practice came early. He ended up sleeping through practice and subsequently suspended for a game.

#4 – Some people think they’re above the law, including our man of the hour. But, you still have to pay those traffic tickets! Kane accrued two tickets while in Manitoba playing for the Jets and neglected to take care of them. So, the Manitoba Government took matters into their own hands and contacted his team. His salary was garnished $650 to cover the fines. That’ll sure put a dent in his $31.5 million dollar deal.

#5 – Last but not least, some classic Instagram photos. Kane had to show off that cash money, baby. One with stacks on his shoulders, another using a stack worth 30 iPhones as his cell phone. What do you think of our bad boy of the NHL?
