Another night, another shit show when it comes to NHL officials.

In case you haven’t seen it, this is how the Sharks won game 3 on Wednesday night:

HOW MANY FUCK UPS DO WE NEED BEFORE SOMETHING CHANGES? This is unbelievable. I can think of five times now that the refs have totally fucked an important call on a goal (and three of them have gone to the Sharks – two in Game 7s and this one in overtime… Sweet).

Whether the NHL needs to go the NFL route and has to confirm a scoring play before the ensuing face off, I don’t even know. Maybe you take away the coaches challenges and do it that way. At this rate, with something getting brutally fucked up almost every night and gifting a team a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals that shouldn’t have even made it through the first round, I think it would be worth the delays every game.

Or maybe the NHL just reviews all OT playoff goals? That would be nice, right? OR how about head office in Toronto (someone is watching right?) can call down when something is obvious and help the refs get the call right?

Anything is better than this.

Notice a pattern? Someone needs to figure it out ASAP.

Add in the fact that when Sean Avery did something that the NHL didn’t like in 2008 and it only took a couple days to add that new rule. And though I’m pretty sure it was unofficial in terms of rule changes, the NHL was pretty quick to put a stop to Brad Marchand’s licking last playoffs. I get that this is a much bigger rule to change, and will be something that completely changes the framework of the game when it happens, but the NHL needs to do something sooner than later because this is absolute garbage at this point.

(And for all the idiots saying that it deflected off Bouwmeester’s leg and that negates the hand pass, that is not the rule just so you know):
